This Tuesday (12), the red-black team lifted the State Championship trophy by beating Sodiê/Mesquita/LSB, at the Hélio Maurício gym, at the Gávea social headquarters. The match started evenly in the first period, but the much superior quality of the Mais Querido squad prevailed and the final score was 91 to 61.

The night was also marked by the reunion of the Pride of the Nation with the fans: the gymnasium was occupied at 50% of its total capacity, following all the safety protocols of the Rio City Hall.

After lifting yet another State trophy, Gustavo De Conti's men turn their attention to the dispute for the The 14th edition of the New Basketball Brazil (NBB) tournament. The reigning champions will debut on the 23rd, in a repeat of the tournament's last final against São Paulo, on their opponent's home turf. Mengão will also defend their Champions League title this season, starting on December 10th, and will be aiming for their second World Cup title in February.
