Flamengo basketball fans will finally be able to catch up. After more than a month away from the Rio courts, coach Paulo Chupeta's team returns to play at home in the Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB). The next match is scheduled for this Friday (January 22nd) at 01 p.m. at the HSBC Arena. Tickets cost R$20 (full price) and R$20,00 (half price) for all seating areas.
In addition to seeing names like Duda and Marcelinho Machado again, spectators will have other attractions such as a master of ceremonies, a DJ and the presence of mascots Uruba and Urubinha.
The players will be presented by master of ceremonies Tony Boss, FlaBasquete's official announcer. "He will bring all his streetball entertainment experience to official NBB games and will be responsible for distributing official club gifts during the games," explains Alexandre Oliveira, from Flamengo's Olympic Sports marketing department.
Entertainment is also guaranteed during breaks. DJ Zé do Roque performs live electronic beats combined with old Brazilian music classics.
Kids are also guaranteed fun with the antics of Uruba & Urubinha, Flamengo's official mascots (www.mascotes.com.br). Another show will be the UBI Crew dance group. This breakdance group, led by Edu b.boy, combines street culture with sports.
