On the morning of last Saturday (January 07.01th), during a training session at the Hélio Maurício gymnasium in Gávea, shooting guard Humberto suffered a recurrent fracture of the fifth metatarsal bone in his left leg. The player, who suffered the same injury while playing against Macaé in the State Championship, is hospitalized and will undergo surgery.

According to FlaBasquete's doctor, Dr. Claudio Cardone, the number 19 player for the Pride of the Nation will be sidelined from training and games for a period of two to three months. 

Humberto will undergo surgery by Dr. José Luiz Runco's team and, due to the injury, the athlete will no longer be part of Flamengo's squad for the NBB qualifying phase. Flamengo's next game in the Novo Basquete Brasil is next Thursday (January 12.01th), against Minas Tênis Clube, in Belo Horizonte.
