Following the strong pace set in the Rio de Janeiro stage of the 2018 LDB, Flamengo traveled to Curitiba for the second stage and debuted this Sunday (16) with a great victory. Facing São José Basquete, the Crias da Gávea won by a score of 84x58 in a match marked by a strong performance inside the paint. Imposing themselves from start to finish, the red-black kids earned their first points in the Curitiba stage and increased their confidence for the continuation of the competition.

João Vitor, with 20 points and six rebounds, was the standout performer and top scorer of the game. Matheusinho (eleven points, five rebounds, and four assists), Ruan (ten points and seven assists), Felipin (13 points and six rebounds), and Sorriso (eleven points and five rebounds) also had strong performances, contributing to the team's excellent result. 

"This victory was very important because it's important for the championship's progress, especially for us, who are playing two consecutive phases. It was a very tight game, we knew the potential of the São José team and managed to open up a good lead that we held throughout the match. This shows that even tired, our team is capable. This victory helped a lot in terms of confidence and helping us continue in the competition," said center João Vitor. 

The Crias da Gávea return to action this Monday (17), at 14:30 pm, against Country Club. The group led by Paulo Chupeta has already won four consecutive victories in the LDB and seeks to maintain its excellent performance.
