Flamengo won its sixth consecutive game in the Basketball Development League (LDB). Early this Saturday afternoon (27/12), the red-and-blacks defeated Botafogo 85-63 at the "Juquinha" Gymnasium in Macaé. After opening a 13-point lead in the first quarter, Paulo Chupeta's team gave the Alvinegro team no chance to react in the Rio derby. With the result, the Pride of the Nation reached ten wins in 14 games.
The team's standout was winger Diego, Flamengo's top scorer with 21 points, 13 in the first quarter alone. "Being fully focused on the match helps a lot with these great performances in the first quarter. Now it's time to keep working hard to maintain the strong pace not only in the first quarter but throughout the match," commented Diego.
Point guard Chupeta, who had 20 points, four assists and three steals, was also one of the highlights of Rubro-Negro's victory.
The game

Upon returning to the court, both teams made numerous mistakes, and the period was marked by low points, with the victory remaining with Flamengo, with a 14-9 run and a score of 65-48. Even with a 17-point lead, Flamengo started the final period by increasing the pace. Leading 8-2 in the opening minutes, the team reached a 23-point lead. By the final clock, little had changed: 85-63 and a Flamengo victory.
