By Isabela Abirached - inFlaBasquete won another one - the eighth consecutive - in the New Basketball Brazil (NBB)! Hosting Paulistano at home, at Tijuca Tênis Clube, Rubro-Negro had no difficulty in scoring 83 to 70 on the scoreboard, on the night of this Wednesday (5).
Guaranteed to be in second place, FlaBasquete is already qualified to go straight to the quarterfinals through the competition's playoffs, skipping the round of 16.

The game
Rafael Mineiro opened the scoring with a three-pointer, but the match remained evenly balanced, with scoring back and forth. However, Flamengo pulled away in the final moments of the quarter, closing the period at 26-20. In the following period, Flamengo opened up their largest lead of the game so far, 12 points, with excellent perimeter shooting—seven to Paulistano's two. Cuello and Gui Deodato were Flamengo's standouts in the first half, each contributing 10 points to the 47-36 partial victory; Ricardo Fischer was right behind them with nine.
Mengão returned from halftime extending their lead, with a confident and calm game and a strong performance from Hettsheimeir, who recently returned from injury. In the final quarter, Paulistano closed the gap on Orgulho da Nação and won the set, but victory was already well underway.
