Having recovered from a muscle injury, Jefferson returned to Flamengo's squad in the second round of the NBB last Sunday. He had a great performance in the match against Vitória (he scored 16 points, grabbed six rebounds, dished out four assists, and also recovered a ball), and showed he's ready for the South American League, one of the club's goals this season. But this was only possible thanks to the excellent work of the coaching staff.
This Thursday (25.11), the power forward/center will be one of the Rubro-negro's weapons in the match against Boca Juniors, in a match that starts at 21 pm at Arena HSBC. Satisfied to have returned to the team in style, Jefferson is the first to recognize the effort of those who helped him in the recovery work.
"In this moment of joy for my successful return, I can't help but thank the good work and dedication of physiotherapist Ricardo and fitness coach Rafael, who worked hard with me, leaving me in excellent condition to play. It was a tough period, but they were by my side the whole time," said the forward/center.
Despite Flamengo's good form, Jefferson doesn't expect an easy match against the Argentines. According to him, facing a team from the homeland of the Argentines is always tough and always a derby. Even more so against Boca Juniors.
"All the teams that reached this stage of the competition demonstrated the qualities they deserve to be here. We'll have a tough opponent ahead of us. The Argentine team is strong, and we have to be careful and try to impose our rhythm of play from the start. We'll really need the support of our fans," he concluded.
