The matches will be played in Buenos Aires, Argentina, at times yet to be announced by FIBA. The competition, which was scheduled to take place in 2021, was rescheduled for 2022 due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.

South American Under-21 champion in 2019, Pedro Nunes was called up to the Senior team for the first time.

"It's a great honor to represent my country, especially on the senior national team. I already had the opportunity at the youth level, but as everyone knows, it's a childhood dream to be part of the Brazilian national team at the highest level. I'm very excited, wanting to get there soon to play, but we have commitments with Flamengo, and the Retomada das Américas is definitely the biggest one," said the number 1, who is preparing, with the rest of the team, for the Champions League final in Uruguay.

FlaBasquete's physical trainer, Bruno Nicolaci, was also called up and will be part of the coaching staff for the AmeriCup qualifiers.
