Jhonatan Luz reinforces FlaBasquete
NBB 10 champion, winger signs for two seasons with Flamengo
By Flamengo Communication - inThirty-one-year-old winger Jhonatan Luz joins the Pride of the Nation team for next season. Captain of the Paulistano team, champion of the last NBB, the player played in nine editions of the Novo Basquete Brasil and has signed with the Mais Querido for two years. Having played for Franca and Palmeiras, Jhonatan stands out for his strong three-point shooting ability.

Because this is Flamengo, words and thanks will never be enough, so I will strive and dedicate myself to helping my teammates win titles and bring joy to this wonderful nation," declares the player.
In the last edition of the NBB, the wing averaged 7,7 points and 4,7 rebounds per game, finishing the competition with a 10th-grade efficiency rating. Shooting 45% from three, the Mais Querido's new signing was one of the tournament's best players in this attribute.
Renewing his partnership with recently signed point guard Deryk Ramos, Luz will also continue his work with coach Gustavo de Conti, now with Manto Sagrado.
"Jhonatan is a very versatile player who can help out in multiple positions. His three-point shooting is very reliable, averaging over 45% in his last few seasons. He's a guy who provides us with great rebounding and is a great defensive performer. A leader, he was the captain of the championship team with Paulistano and will certainly add a lot to Flamengo, as he's a successful player with experience in Europe and is regularly called up to the Brazilian national team," analyzed Gustavinho.
Speaking of the National Team, last Monday (11) the Brazilian Basketball Confederation announced the list of players called up for the next window of the World Cup qualifiers and Jhonatan was among the members.
