The game

Flamengo started dominating the game and took an 8-2 lead, but the home team came back and tied the score (12-12) midway through the first quarter. Flamengo's response was quick, and with superior rebounding—11 to Bauru's 6—and offensive efficiency—a fantastic 90% on two-point shots—the team from Gávea easily regained the lead, closing the period 29-19. The standout performer in the opening minutes was Devon Scott, who scored eight points—a 100% success rate—and grabbed two rebounds.

The second quarter began with another three points from the American, wearing the number 22 jersey, with a basket, a foul, a made bonus free throw, and a thrill. But Bauru wouldn't give up, and it was their opponent's turn to step up offensively and defensively, reducing the deficit to four points with six minutes remaining in the half. Two consecutive three-pointers by the Flamengo team—by Gui Deodato and Didi Louzada—gave the Mais Querido team a healthy lead—their largest to date—of 12 points (30-42). Bauru ended up winning the period (17-15), but Flamengo went into the locker room ahead: 44-36.

Flamengo started the third quarter with poor shooting, and their opponent took advantage to turn the score around (50-49). Bauru was far superior in the period and closed the period at 21-11. The teams alternated the lead in the final minutes of the quarter, but the home team led 57-55 going into the final ten minutes of the duel.

The final quarter was a basket-by-basket affair. The atmosphere heated up, with tough ball battles and heavy contact. Flamengo managed to overcome the pressure, reestablish itself, and reclaim a 65-70 lead, benefiting once again from great moments from the game's leading scorer, Devon Scott. But Bauru was decisive in the final moments. With 12 seconds remaining, the opponent took a three-point lead (73-70). A battle between Cuello and Alex further heated up the final stretch, resulting in both receiving technical fouls. Flamengo had a chance to take the game to overtime on the final play, but lost possession under the paint as the clock expired.
