Flamengo's debut in the South American League, against Malvin (URU), in Santiago del Estero, Argentina, had to be postponed. Official mourning was declared in Argentina following the death of former president Néstor Kirchner, and all sporting competitions for this Thursday (October 28.10) were suspended. As a result, the first round of Group B was postponed to Friday (October 29.10). Flamengo and Malvin face off at 20:30 pm, while Quimsa (ARG) and Inacap (CHI) play at 23 pm.

Friday's games have been moved to Saturday, and Saturday's games have been moved to Sunday. Initially, there will be no change to the match times.

The top two teams in each group qualify for the final hexagonal in December, the venue of which has yet to be determined. The 2009 champion, Flamengo, is seeking a second title in the competition. In the 2009/2010 season, Flamengo was eliminated in the first round.

The match against Tijuca, for the State Championship, which would be played next Tuesday (02.11), at Tijuca Tênis Clube, was postponed to November 17th.
