In a week, the champion of this season's New Basketball Brazil (NBB) will be decided. Next Saturday (May 31.05st), at 10 am, Flamengo and Paulistano will compete for the national championship title at the HSBC Arena in Rio. Flamengo, the reigning champion, will be looking for a third title, while the São Paulo club will face its first final in the tournament.

Flamengo's opponent finished second in the qualifying round and faced São José in the semifinals. Before the fifth and decisive game, Paulistano trailed by nearly 30 points, but recovered and secured a spot in the final. 

"Paulistano is a tough opponent to beat. They're a great team, which had an excellent campaign and deserved to reach the final. The fact that the final is a single game is very important and we have to be very careful," warned coach José Neto.

Analyzing Paulistano's main qualities, the red-black commander sees a high quality in the São Paulo team's squad, which makes the collective game overcome the lack of a big star.

"Their team (Paulistano) is very good collectively. Their roster is consistent and allows for greater rotation of players on the court. Their team outshines any individual talent and is a very strong scoring team. They don't rely on just one player to decide; everyone has their role," said Neto.
