Clube de Regatas do Flamengo and coach José Neto have announced that they have mutually agreed not to renew his contract, which expires in June 2018, as they believe that an important and successful period (2012-2018) has come to an end. Assistant coach Rodrigo Carlos and fitness coach Diego Falcão are also leaving the club.

CR Flamengo is deeply grateful for the dedication of José Neto, who, over the past six seasons, has become one of the most successful coaches in the club's history, winning five Campeonato Carioca titles, four NBB titles, a Liga das Américas title, and an Intercontinental Club Cup. Flamengo wishes José Neto the best of luck in his continuing career.
