José Neto receives tribute for NBB title
The red-black coach was presented with a commemorative plaque from the Brazilian Basketball Coaches Association (ATBB) at a LNB event

On Tuesday (09.06), the three-time champion coach of the New Basketball Brazil (NBB) for Flamengo, José Neto, received a plaque from the Brazilian Basketball Coaches Association (ATBB) in recognition of the national title won on May 30. The tribute took place at an event of the National Basketball League (LNB) in partnership with the NBA, which promotes technical meetings with coaches, assistants, physiotherapists and physical trainers of the NBB and Liga Ouro teams, which gives access to the main tournament.
"I feel very happy for the recognition of my work class. I extend this tribute to Clube de Regatas do Flamengo and to our entire work group, coaching staff and players, who made this achievement possible," said Neto, alongside Carlos Rodrigues, known as Carlão, on the left, and Marco Aurélio dos Santos, known as Chuí, on the right (photo), both former basketball athletes and coaches.
The event continues this Wednesday (June 10.06) and is divided into three distinct areas: Technique, for coaches and assistants, Physiotherapy and Physical Preparation, for their respective professionals. The objective of the meeting is to foster the exchange and sharing of information after the end of another season of Brazilian basketball, in which Flamengo was crowned the biggest winner of the NBB, winning its fourth championship - three in a row.

In addition to renowned Brazilian professionals, each clinic will feature a renowned professional from the world's biggest basketball league. The guest at the meeting with coaches and assistants will be Jim O'Brien, a 1996 NCAA champion as an assistant to Rick Pitino at the University of Kentucky. O'Brien has coached some of the NBA's most storied franchises—the Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers, and Indiana Pacers—and worked as an assistant coach with the New York Knicks and Dallas Mavericks. Jon Lee, a strength and conditioning coach for the Toronto Raptors, and Brazilian Alê Oliveira, a physical therapist for the Brooklyn Nets who has worked in the NBA for five years, will also participate in the event.
