Flamengo ended its negative streak of defeats in the NBB by beating Pinheiros this Thursday (2). The victory came with great overcoming by the Orgulho da Nação athletes and was achieved in extra time.

FlaBasquete coach José Neto spoke about the importance of getting a positive result back in the competition.

"It was an important victory because it was a direct fight for a better ranking at this point," he said. The positive result put Flamengo provisionally at the top of the NBB, which awaits the result of the match between Brasília and Basquete Cearense to determine whether it will remain in that position.

Neto pointed to the fact that it was an away game as a differentiator for the victory.

"The championship is very balanced, and a win away from home against a team that's been on a strong run puts us at the top of the table and motivates us to keep improving for the tougher season," he said. The coach also highlighted the team's resilience.

"It was a victory that has a special value for Flamengo because of the overcoming of several difficulties that we have been facing on and off the court, thus showing that the team remains focused on the objective we have," he concluded.
