More than 100 boys born between 1994 and 1998 participated in the second day of the II National Basketball Tryout, this Tuesday (17.01), at the Hélio Maurício Gymnasium in Gávea. Around 20 boys who did not attend the first day of tests were allowed to participate in the event. The tryout ends this Wednesday (18.01), when a committee formed by the coordinator of the youth categories, Paulo Chupeta, and the coaches of the club's under-14, Infantil, Infanto and youth teams, will announce the selected athletes.
"We don't have a set number of spots. We'll select the athletes we think can meet the needs of our teams," explained Paulo Chupeta.
On Tuesday, the tryout included the adult team players Kammerichs, Hélio, Átila, and Teichmann. At the end, they raffled off t-shirts for the participants. The final day of tryouts begins at 11 a.m. with the selection of players born in 1997 and 1998. Next, those born in 1995 and 1996 take the court, and finally, those born in 1994. Players Marcelinho, Duda, and Caio Torres will be present starting at 15 p.m.
