In his first season playing in the New Basketball Brazil (NBB), center João Paulo Batista felt the taste of lifting a national trophy with Flamengo. Now, JP will defend this title and seek more trophies next season, having renewed his contract for another year with the Mais Querido.
"I would like to express my happiness and satisfaction with the contract renewal for another year and take this opportunity to thank everyone: the board, coaching staff, employees, and fans who make Flamengo this immense nation, deserving of all honors and glory. My commitment will always be to fight and give my best so that together we can achieve the goals and objectives set for the next season," said JP.
In 2015/2016, the 2,06m, 34-year-old from Pernambuco took to the court 41 times in the national championship, averaging 20 minutes played per game, scoring 464 points and grabbing 199 rebounds.
The Clube de Regatas do Flamengo adult basketball team relies on direct funding from its sponsor Estácio, in addition to investments from Tim via the State Sports Incentive Law/State Secretariat for Sports, Leisure and Youth (ICMS).
