The Pride of the Nation's squad is beginning to take shape for next season. With a renewed contract, JP Batista, who was a significant player for Flamengo during his two years with the red and black jersey, will be seeking another trophy for the Most Beloved.
For the NBB9, João Paulo Lopes Batista played 742.5 minutes in 33 matches, scoring 381 points, 204 rebounds, and 57 assists. In his debut year for Mengão, the center won the Novo Basquete Brasil championship.
"I'm very happy to be able to continue my career at Flamengo. Over the past two years, I've learned to love this club, the biggest fans in the world, and everything we've witnessed playing here. I feel completely honored by this opportunity, to continue realizing my dream of becoming a basketball player, and to be able to play for the biggest club in the country. I also want to thank José Neto for his trust, the management for believing in my work, and I'm very grateful to the fans for all their support and affection over the years," said the Flamengo center.
JP Batista joins coach José Neto and forward/point guard Humberto and begins preparations for the new season with Orgulho da Nação.
The Flamengo Regatas Club basketball teams receive funding from their sponsors – Estácio, AmBev, Rede D'or, IRB Brasil RE, CSN, Brasil Plural, and EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), as well as support from the Brazilian Club Committee (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources generated by the Pelé Law. The Flamengo Guardian Angel Project, a personal tax transfer, benefits all Olympic sports of the Most Beloved Club.
