Youth wins first in State basketball
The red-and-black team defeated Tijuca. The under-14 team also won the state championship.

Flamengo's youth team (under-19) achieved its first victory in the State Basketball Championship. In a thrilling game, the Rubro-negro beat Tijuca, 56 x 55, on the night of last Wednesday (13.04), at the Hélio Maurício Gymnasium, in Gávea. Ranieiri was the top scorer, with 19 points.
In the preliminary round, the under-14 team put on a show, crushing Tijuca 74-35. Considered one of the brightest prospects of Gávea's new generation, Douglas led the way with 31 points. The team remains undefeated in the competition.
The youth team's next game will be on May 06.05th, against América de Três Rios, at 19 p.m., in Três Rios. The under-14s will face Botafogo on May 11.05th, at 18:30 p.m., at the opponent's home.
