On Wednesday night (September 11.09), in Venezuela, Flamengo's Nicolás Laprovittola won the bronze medal for Argentina in the Copa América basketball tournament. In addition to finishing third, the Argentines secured a spot in the 2014 World Cup, which will be held in Spain. A certain name in the latest call-ups, the Flamengo point guard is expected to be present in this competition.

On his official Twitter account, Laprovittola expressed his joy with the result. "Qualification and podium," he wrote. He missed only one Copa América match. His best performance was in the 91-72 loss to the Dominican Republic, when the red-and-black played just over 25 minutes and scored 13 points.

Presented as a player for Mais Querido in August, the athlete was already South American champion with his national team, and Argentine runner-up, with Lanús, in 2013.
