The team's standouts, who also play for the Adult team, are power forward Cristiano Felício, a player regularly called up to the Brazilian National Team; shooting guard Diego Marques, the team's top scorer with 405 points and named the best player of the first stage of the LDB; and point guard Gegê, already called up to the Brazilian Youth National Team and having an excellent season, leading the Adult team in assists in the Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB). The team's strength, well-trained performance, and the support of the fans, with all of its home games, should be key allies in the title race.

"Our group is a group where we'll face three traditional São Paulo teams: Pinheiros, São José, and Bauru. But playing at home, with the support of the fans and the full squad, with Gegê, Chupeta, Diego, Douglas, and Felício, we're certainly a very strong team. So much so that all five of these players are playing in Flamengo's adult league. Our expectations are the best possible; I hope to bring this second championship to Gávea," said Paulo Chupeta, the team's coach.

The preparation of the athletes who play on the Adult team began after December 21st, the date of the last NBB game in 2013. The other athletes, who play in the youth team, began their preparation earlier.

In addition to Flamengo, the following will compete in the final phase of the competition: Pinheiros, São José and Bauru, making up group B with Mais Querido, as well as Minas, Basquete Cearense, Ginástico and Brasília, which form group C. On the 29th, the semifinals will be played and the 30th will be the date of the grand final.
