Flamengo defeated São José and finished top of Group E of the Basketball Development League (LDB). With a 100% record, the team beat the home team 89-66 on Thursday at the Lineu de Moura gymnasium. Both teams, Franca and Bauru, will advance to the semifinals of the competition, which will be played this weekend in Brasília during the NBB (New Basketball Brazil) All-Star Game.
The game was close at the beginning, with the first quarter ending in a tie, but in the second quarter, the red-and-black team prevailed and built a lead that they managed to maintain. Alexandre Paranhos led the red-and-black team with 18 points.
