A duel and leaders, with big names. Just the way Flamengo likes it. This Thursday, FlaBasquete will face the team that's hot on its heels in the competition, Sesi Franca. A nine-point difference separates the teams in the standings. Flamengo leads with 13 points and a goal difference of 90, while Sesi has the same 13 but a goal difference of 81. But when the ball goes up in the Pedrocão stadium at 20:45 pm, none of that will matter.

The game will determine the top spot in the standings and pit the two teams with the most wins so far against each other. It will also pit the best defense against the second-best offense (by details) in the competition. For those who enjoy the thrill of basketball, Flamengo vs. Franca, this Thursday, will be THE Game.

The historic

Despite being a great derby, Flamengo and Franca have never decided the competition. In the 2009/2010 edition, the teams met in the playoffs, in the semifinals, with Flamengo winning 3-1 in the best-of-five. The following season, the teams met again in the semifinals, with Franca winning. In total, 27 matches have been played, with 17 Flamengo wins and 10 São Paulo wins. In the current edition, both teams have six wins in seven matches and have won their last two matches.

Playing in Bauru, Flamengo defeated the home team 77-47. Franca beat Minas at home 83-66.
