NBB leader Flamengo struggles to maintain winning streak

Flamengo's goal is to maintain its winning streak this Friday (February 18.02). The team faces Assis at 20 p.m. at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro in a match valid for the second round of the NBB (New Basketball Brazil). Tickets cost R$20 (students with ID pay half price). After five consecutive losses (two in the NBB and three in the League of the Americas), Flamengo has three consecutive victories, against Vila Velha, Vitória, and Araraquara, respectively. Flamengo is the clear leader of the competition, with 12 wins in 16 games (75% success rate). Brasília, in second place, has one more loss than Flamengo.
For the match against Assis, Flamengo will be without forward/center Jefferson, who is undergoing physical therapy to recover from an adductor injury in his right thigh. He is expected to return to the court for the match against Brasília on February 23.02 in Brasília. Forward/guard David Teague is still doubtful. The American suffered a back injury after falling awkwardly and hitting the backboard during the match against Vitória last Sunday. Teague was out for the match against Arararaquara on Wednesday (February 16.02).
