Loku Cuello is FlaBasquete's fourth renewal and the fifth player confirmed for the 23/24 season! The Argentine, originally from Buenos Aires, is a versatile player and was one of the standouts in his debut season with the Mais Querido, averaging 11,8 points, 3,8 rebounds, 3,4 assists, and 13,5 efficiency. In two games in the 22/23 NBB, the forward scored 22 points - one against União Corinthians and another against São Paulo, when he also recorded seven assists.
Cuello, who is entering his second year in Brazil, played for Instituto Córdoba (ARG), Lanús (ARG), Libertad de Sunchales (ARG), and Malvin (URU) before joining Pride of the Nation. The shooting guard spoke a little more about what he expects for next year.
"I'm very happy to continue defending the Manto for another season. It's a pleasure for me to be here at Flamengo, and I'm sure we'll have a great year, and I hope it'll be a campaign full of titles," said Flamengo's number 44.
While playing for Instituto, Cuello was chosen as the best player in the Argentine Championship and Flamengo's vice president of Olympic Sports, Guilherme Kroll, remembered the point guard's achievement.
"Cuello was the MVP, and it wasn't for nothing. Of the players who play or have played in Argentina, he's certainly one of the best, a complete player who participates in the entire game. He fully met our expectations. He has everything it takes to become a Flamengo idol. I'm absolutely certain he'll be one of the team's biggest stars," declared Kroll.
The Argentine joins the team captain, Olivinha, power forward Gabriel Jaú, center Maique, wing Guilherme Deodato and coach Gustavo De Conti for the 2023/2024 season championships.
