On Thursday night (05.12), Flamengo's basketball team took to the court at Arena Vivo, at 20 pm, against Minas Tênis Clube in the seventh round of the Novo Basquete Brasil 2013/2014. With the final score of 84 x 66, the Rubro-Negro was stopped by Minas for the second time in 11 matches in the championship's history since its creation. Despite the defeat, center Olivinha stood out in the match with a double-double (18 points / 10 rebounds). Argentine Nicolás Laprovittola recorded five assists.

Flamengo entered the field without winger Marquinhos, recovering from bone edema in the tibia, and point guard Vitor Benite, out for the entire season due to a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

"Today we didn't play well defensively and that cost us in attack. As a result, we weren't able to impose the pace of play we had planned."

Flamengo's next opponent is Espírito Santo, in a match to be held next Saturday (07.12) at Ginásio Tartarugão, home of the NBB's debutant opponent.
