The Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB) standings leave no doubt: Flamengo's basketball team is in excellent form. On Saturday night (February 08.02th), the team won another game, against Paulistano, and maintained its sole lead in the competition. The score was a resounding 98-67 at the Antonio Prado Junior gymnasium. Power forward Olivinha was the star of the game, leading all scorers and achieving a double-double with 25 points and 14 rebounds.

In the first half, Laprovittola stood out with his shooting. Olivinha was also one of the top scorers, in addition to doing very well on rebounds, which earned him a double-double in the second quarter. Marquinhos took a while to get his first basket, but after he did, he was one of the key players of the period, alongside Washam and Shilton. The team was well-organized defensively and went into halftime with 52 points on the scoreboard against only 29 for Paulistano.

In the second half, Olivinha confirmed to the fans that he entered the court inspired. The power forward accumulated 25 points and 14 rebounds and was the star of the game. Gegê also had a good performance and with seven assists fulfilled his role as point guard. When the score was already 94-58, the Flamengo fans were still able to enjoy a dunk by Marquinhos.

Now, Flamengo takes a break from the NBB (Brazilian basketball league) to compete in the Liga das Américas (Americas League). The team's debut will be against Capitanes de Arecibo on the 14th, at 20 PM, in Quito.
