Flamengo took the court with Laprovittola, Gegê, Marcelinho, Olivinha, and Meyinsse. In the first quarter, Marcelinho, Laprovittola, and Olivinha scored 15 points for Flamengo, each with a two-pointer and a three-pointer. The center also led in rebounds with five, followed by Shilton with four, who also completed the first quarter: 17-12 for Flamengo. In the second quarter, Gegê was a standout assist-getter, while another two-time LDB champion, Cristiano Felício, came out strong, but Flamengo stopped at 26 points and was met by Macaé's comeback. With two minutes remaining in the quarter, the team rallied and closed the gap on their opponent. The team went into halftime trailing, losing 37-33 to the northern Rio de Janeiro club. Laprovittola and Marcelinho led Flamengo with 10 points each. Marcelo's brother, Duda Machado, was also Macaé's top scorer.

Flamengo started the third quarter strongly and came close to equalizing, fueled by the roar of the fans. Shilton and Olivinha were the standout performers of the period, each with six points. The quarter ended tied at 19-19, leaving Flamengo just four points behind. In the final quarter, Gegê, with a three-pointer, and Marcelinho, with two free throws, turned the score around for Flamengo, much to the delight of the fans. The shooting guard and Laprovittola led the Mais Querido's comeback, scoring almost half the quarter's points. After a scare in the second quarter, the final quarter ended largely in Flamengo's favor: 27-13. Another victory in the quest for a second championship.

"The support from the fans was crucial to today's victory, especially in the final quarter. It was the difference. We didn't have a good second quarter, and in the third we were still behind, but in the final quarter the fans who showed up were with us until the end, supporting us, and that gave us a lot of strength and energy to get a good lead (on the scoreboard) and then we just managed it," said the red-and-black power forward Olivinha.
