Flamengo's marathon of games continues in Espírito Santo

Flamengo continues its marathon of games this weekend in Espírito Santo. This Friday (February 11.02), Gonzalo Garcia's team faces Vila Velha at 20 p.m. in Vila Velha. On Sunday (February 13.02), the team returns to the court against Vitória at 11 a.m. in Vitória. Both games are part of the return leg of the NBB (New Basketball Brazil). In the first round, Flamengo defeated both opponents (90-70 over Vila Velha and 112-58 over Vitória).
These matches will be good opportunities for Flamengo to regain the lead in the competition. The team dropped to third place after losing to Minas Gerais last Wednesday (February 09.02) in Belo Horizonte and now has nine wins in 13 matches (69,23% success rate). Pinheiros and Brasília share the lead in the competition, with the same number of losses as Flamengo, but two more games.
Flamengo is coming off a long stretch of matches and travels. In addition to the NBB, the team competed in the qualifying round of the Liga das Américas in Ibarra, Ecuador, in January, and in Veracruz, Mexico, last week. At the end of last year, the team also played in the State Championship (winning its sixth championship), the first round of the Liga Sudamericana in Santiago del Estero, Argentina, and the final hexagonal in Rio, finishing second.
"These will be two important games to get us back to the top of the NBB and secure a spot in the playoffs, which is our goal," said coach Gonzalo Garcia.
