Flamengo basketball star and captain Marcelinho Machado could represent the club in the Novo Basquete Brasil All-Star Game. The player is among the competition's best forwards, and Flamengo fans can vote to see their idol start the match, which will be played on the 21st at 10:30 am at the Parque do Sabía Complex in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais. The event will also feature a dunk contest and a three-point shooting contest on Saturday, the 20th. Flamengo will also have a representative in both competitions. Teichmann will compete in the dunk contest, and Jefferson will compete for the long-range shooting prize. In 2009, Flamengo dominated the event, held at Maracanãzinho Stadium. Five Flamengo players started in the All-Star Game that year.

Flamengo's basketball players won't know for sure until February 26th, when they host Joinville at the HSBC Arena for the third game of the second leg of the 2009-2010 Novo Basquete Brasil season. Until then, the team continues training hard. On Wednesday, the group exercised on the beach and will return to training at the Arena tomorrow.
