Marcelinho is called up to the Brazilian national team

Player is among the 20 names who will participate in the preparation for the Pre-Olympics

Flamengo basketball star Marcelinho, forward/guard, will once again represent Flamengo on the Brazilian national team. He was one of 20 players called up by coach Rubén Magnano for training ahead of the Pre-Olympic Tournament in Mar del Plata, Argentina, from August 30 to September 11.

The athletes will report to the coaching staff on July 4th in São Paulo to begin their preparations. Brazil is in Group A and will debut against Venezuela. The team will then face Canada, the Dominican Republic, and Cuba. Group B includes Puerto Rico, Uruguay, Panama, Argentina, and Paraguay.

Before the Pre-Olympics, Brazil will have two commitments: a tournament in Venezuela, from August 5 to 7, and the Jenaro "Tuto" Marchand Cup, in Foz do Iguaçu, from August 24 to 26. The Tuto Marchand Cup will feature the participation of the adult men's teams of Brazil, Canada, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.
