Flamengo faces Macaé this Friday (23.09), at 19 pm, at the Hélio Maurício Gymnasium, in Gávea, in a match valid for the first round of the return leg of the State Championship. The game will be marked by the return of winger Marcelinho Machado, who after having secured the Olympic spot in London 2012 with the Brazilian national team, returns to Fla with full strength.

The red-black team defends its undefeated leadership of the competition (three victories) and Marcelinho, the team captain, praises Flamengo's strength in this 2011/2012 season and shows his joy at having had a great participation in the Pre-Olympic tournament in Mar del Plata (Argentina).

"This spot has been very good for our sport. Brazilians have wanted to see basketball back in the Olympics for a long time, and I'm very happy to have been a part of it and to have been able to help Brazil secure a spot in London. I started training again at the beginning of this week. I'm not yet at the same pace as the other players, and I should be on the court for at least a few minutes to start getting back into rhythm. Flamengo has assembled a strong group for the season, and I'm very excited," said the forward, the top scorer in the 2010/2011 NBB with 918 points (an average of 26,2 per game).
