Last Saturday (30.05) Flamengo became the four-time champion of the New Basketball Brazil (NBB) with an idol of the red-black fans on the court, who was part of the Pride of the Nation's four victories in the seven editions of the tournament. The team's most experienced player, Marcelinho Machado, knows well the strength of the Red-Black in decisive moments.

"When Flamengo arrives, they arrive to win. It's no wonder they've reached 19 finals and won 16 titles. A title gives us a sense of accomplishment, that everything we gave up, our effort and dedication were worth it. Playing for Flamengo is a source of pride, a great joy," he declared.

Marcelinho also recalled that, despite having finished the qualifying phase in third place, the team's performance in the playoffs made the Pride of the Nation very confident going into the best-of-three final series.

"We knew Bauru had a great team, but we reached the final after a very good run. Especially after that fifth game against São José, when the team grew so much. We dominated both games (against Bauru), and this title was beyond any doubt. It was well deserved. The whole team gave it their all; it was a victory that truly reflects Flamengo," he concluded.
