Marquinhos and Humberto visit the FlaBasquete center in Cachoeiras de Macacu
The action is part of a series of visits by Pride of the Nation to the club's social projects

After Marcelinho and Rafael Mineiro opened the week of visits to the social responsibility centers of the red-black basketball team, it was Marquinhos and Humberto's turn to brighten up the afternoon for around 70 children. at the FlaBasquete Center in Cachoeiras de Macacu. The star duo visited the Sempre Flamengo Sports School - based in the city in the interior of Rio de Janeiro, in partnership with the State Secretariat of Sports, Leisure and Youth - on the afternoon of this Tuesday (30.05). The two Pride of the Nation players participated in a class with professor Fabio Barcelos, sharing their stories, practicing fundamentals and interacting with the children and teenagers who participate in the social project.
Isabella Lopes, 15, is one of the standouts among the girls in the group. The young woman, who has been part of the Cachoeiras de Macacu Sports School for a year, commented on how important it was for the group to welcome Marquinhos and Humberto.
"Their presence was very important to me. The children were very encouraged and tried harder. They serve as role models, even for me, who was able to see these stars up close," said Isabella.
Marquinhos also did not hide his satisfaction at having been part of the event on Tuesday afternoon.
"It was a source of joy, especially because I was on the other side one day, starting out. When I was little, I had an idol who came to watch me play, so I know what that means. It was a joy to share what I've experienced so far, what basketball has given me, what basketball provides me every day. It was very productive and I really hope they made the most of it and enjoyed this moment," revealed the star.
The FlaBasquete Center in Cachoeiras de Macacu hosts classes from the Sempre Flamengo Sports School every Tuesday and Thursday, with 152 children and adolescents participating. The project, run in partnership with the State Department of Sports, Recreation, and Youth, as well as the city government, seeks to bring out the best in students, aiming to develop citizens into more than just athletes.
This Wednesday (31.05) it is Olivinha and coach José Neto's turn to visit the DEGASE Center, awarded last week with the Socio-Educational Oscar "Guri", granted by the Government of Rio de Janeiro.
The Flamengo Regatas basketball teams receive funding from their sponsors—AmBev, Rede D'or, IRB Brasil RE, CSN, Brasil Plural, and EY—via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), as well as support from the Brazilian Club Committee (CBC) through the decentralization of funds from the Pelé Law. The Flamengo Guardian Angel Project, a personal tax transfer, benefits all Olympic sports of the club.
