Besides Olivinha, Flamengo will have another guaranteed representative in the 2017 All-Star Game. Flamengo forward Marquinhos will make his debut in the 3 Points Tournament. The number 11 is the fourth-highest scorer in the NBB CAIXA 9 and has one of the best three-point field goal averages in the tournament.
The competition will follow the same format as last year. In 60 seconds, each player will take 25 shots, five from each position on the court. Each shot made with a regular ball will be worth one point, and with a colored ball, two. The top two in the qualifying round advance, and the winner in the final takes the title.
Marquinhos will compete for the title against the current champion Duda Machado (Solar Cearense) and with David Jackson (Vasco da Gama), Shamell (Mogi das Cruzes), Jefferson William (Bauru Basket) and the also debutant Deryk Ramos (Brasília).
The 2017 All-Star Game will take place on Sunday (19), at the Ibirapuera Gymnasium, in São Paulo. In addition to Marquinhos, five other red-black players are competing for places in the event. and voting will be open until next Wednesday.
