Under-17 boys are champions in Minas Gerais
Team wins tournament with 100% success rate

This Sunday (08.09), Flamengo's under-17 men's team won the SESI Children's Basketball Tournament, held in Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais. Created to honor the 80th anniversary of the Federation of Industries of the State of Minas Gerais, the competition began last Friday (06.09) and included five other clubs. The Most Beloved lifted the trophy with a 100% success rate.
The excellent campaign began with a victory over SESI Juiz de Fora, which, despite playing at home, couldn't withstand Flamengo's strength and was defeated 66-44. The following victory, however, was the most impressive. The team defeated SESI Leopoldina with an incredible score of 139-22.
In the semifinals, the opponent was SESI Machado, and the scoreline was once again impressive: 120-60. In the final, the Mais Querido faced SESI Juiz de Fora, the home team, again. The support of the home crowd made the difference early on, but the red-and-black team was the better team and, naturally, opened up a large lead. The final score of 85-40 ended up being fair. They won four victories and earned well-deserved gold medals.
