After defeating Limeira 3-0 in the best-of-five series of the Novo Basquete Brasil 7 (NBB) semifinals, Flamengo met its opponent in the fight for the championship title this Wednesday (20.05). After four very disputed games, Bauru, leader in the qualifying phase of the tournament, ended up getting the better of the Mogi das Cruzes team in the fifth and final match between the teams.

Even with a longer break between the semifinals and the finals, the red-and-blacks have no rest or respite. Even without knowing who their opponent would be in the final, coach José Neto's team has been training hard to maintain their good form in the competition. Jerome Meyinsse, pivot for Orgulho da Nação and a key player in their qualification for the finals, praised the semifinalists and praised the work done at Flamengo.

"Mogi and Bauru played a very tough series, and neither team seemed to want to lose. They fought until the end, and Bauru ended up securing a spot in the final. We took advantage of this time, rested ourselves a bit, and continued training, even though we didn't know who our opponent would be. We're working to improve our team in specific areas and tactics. The goal is to become even better as we prepare for this final," said the American.

Jerome took the opportunity to emphasize that FlaBasquete arrives at this NBB final stage in peak physical condition, emphasizing that this could be the decisive factor in the red-and-black team's favor. "I believe that, since the end of the qualifying phase, we've been playing very well, with a good rhythm, even though we still had a few games against São José where we fell a little short. Right now, we're in very good physical shape, we don't have anyone injured, and that will certainly make the difference in reaching the final," he concluded.
