On Monday night (28), at the Maracanãzinho gymnasium, FlaBasquete debuted in the 2020/2021 season, in a match valid for the first round of the State Championship. In the long-awaited return after six months without going to the court, Mengão beat Atitude 114 to 37. The top scorer of the match was Chuzito, with 16 points.
The game
Flamengo's first points came in style, with a dunk by Rafael Mineiro. The beautiful play opened the scoring in the Mais Querido's overwhelming victory. Also counting on points from debutant Chuzito, as well as Pedro Nunes, Balbi, and Olivinha, the period ended 26-6. In the second period, Flamengo completely dominated, with three-pointers from Hettsheimeir and Yago—his first baskets for the Sacred Mantle—and Leo Demetrio. The teams went into halftime with a 56-10 lead.
The third period was more even, but Flamengo still held a large lead, with a 28-16 scoreline. With the huge score difference built up throughout the game, Flamengo only had to control the match in the final 10 minutes.

Flamengo returns to Maracanãzinho this Tuesday (29), at 20:15 pm, to face Niterói, in the second round of the State Championship.
