In overtime, FlaBasquete beats Vitória away from home and remains leader
The team opened up a big lead, saw their opponent react and tie the match, but recovered in the extra minutes.

FlaBasquete had another challenge valid for the Novo Basquete Brasil CAIXA 9 on Friday night (24), at the Cajazeiras multi-sport gym, against Vitória. After extra time, the red-black team from Rio de Janeiro was the one who got the better of it, winning 93 to 87. With the result, the team remains in the isolated lead of the national championship.
After a very even first quarter (17-17), Flamengo grew into the match, winning the following two periods by two and four points, respectively. In the final quarter, José Neto's men started with a dominant display: the team immediately took a 5-0 lead in the first half and held a 17-point lead over their opponents. In the final minutes, the Bahian team fought back and turned the score around, sending the game into overtime. In the additional five minutes, Flamengo gave Vitória no chance, recovered from the scare, and secured another victory.
The standouts of the match were Ronald Ramon, Flamengo's top scorer with 29 points, and Olivinha, who achieved a double-double with 22 points and ten rebounds. Fischer also had a strong performance, with 10 points, five rebounds, and five assists.
The Rubro-Negro's next match will be on Wednesday (29), against Minas, at Tijuca Tênis Clube. This will be Mengão's last game in Rio de Janeiro before the playoffs. FlaBasquete's last match in the NBB CAIXA 9 qualifying phase will be on April 1, Saturday, against Brasília. The Clássico dos Campeões will be hosted by Mais Querido and will be played in Manaus.
