On Friday morning (March 14.03), a press conference was held regarding the Final Four of the League of the Americas, which will be held in Rio de Janeiro at the Maracanãzinho gymnasium. President Eduardo Bandeira de Mello was present in the Rogério Steimberg auditorium, along with the vice president and executive director of Olympic sports, Alexandre Póvoa and Marcelo Vido. Representing the Flamengo basketball team, coach José Neto attended the event, accompanied by Marcelinho Machado and Marquinhos. In addition to Flamengo being able to play the decisive matches at home, more good news was presented to the Flamengo Nation: extremely affordable prices, starting at R$20, in addition to the maintenance of the half-price promotion for all fans who attend the matches wearing a Flamengo jersey.

 

Thanks to the support of TIM, Brasil Brokers, Estácio de Sá, and the Rio de Janeiro State Government, not to mention the dedication of the club's board, Flamengo will host the Final Four, a stage it reached for the first time this year. "We managed to bring an international competition to the city. Flamengo wins, Rio wins, the Olympic sports win—everyone wins. Our basketball has naturally become a sport of great importance for the club and is now practically self-sustaining. Flamengo cannot stop thinking big, always with responsibility and its feet on the ground," stated VP Alexandre Póvoa.

 

The Red-Black Nation will certainly turn out in force for the decisive matches. The team's "sixth player" will have excellent conditions for purchasing tickets, details of which will be announced this Saturday (March 14.03). Ticket prices for each game start at R$20 and go up to R$45. Executive director Marcelo Vido explained how the ticket sales will work.

 

"There are two options. The first is to buy the desired day individually, and the second option is to buy both days, for the four games. We took into account the prices charged for the NBB final. At the time, there were 15 paying spectators at HSBC Arena, and the lowest ticket prices were R$18 (half price) and R$36 (full price). The vast majority of tickets are sold at half-price, since we are running the Flamengo jersey promotion. We are offering R$21 (half price) and R$20 (full price) for individual purchases on the first day (March 40). The combo, for both days (four games), will be R$90 (full price) and R$45 (half price), with the half-price also valid for those wearing a Flamengo jersey. In other words, with half-price prices, each game will cost R$22,50 (the prices for the final games are higher than those for the semifinal). There are more expensive seats in the arena, but there are far fewer of them," explained executive director Marcelo Vido.
 

The captain of the team that will enter the court to seek the unprecedented title of the continental competition for Fla talked about the expectations for the semifinal, which will be played against Aguada (URU), on March 21st.

 

"When a decision approaches, I try to recall both positive and negative memories to help me decide which path to take. The current situation gives us a lot of confidence, but it's also important to keep our feet on the ground. This team has, since last year, gained the strength to compete in finals. We're very prepared and focused on winning," he said.
