NBB postpones Flamengo's game against Paulistano
The team's 2010 debut will be in Franca on January 15th. Hélio comments on the change in the schedule.

It's confirmed. The National Basketball League has decided to cancel Flamengo's next game in the Novo Basquete Brasil tournament, against Paulistano, the state finalist. The match was scheduled for this Sunday, January 10th, at the HSB Arena, but due to Flamengo's upcoming game in the São Paulo State Basketball Championship finals, scheduled for Saturday, the day before the match against Flamengo, the League decided to postpone the match.
With this measure, Flamengo gains more time for training at Arena HSBC. "There are pros and cons," analyzes point guard Hélio. "The positive side is that we gain more time for training after the end-of-year break. The negative side is that facing Palistano [one day after their opponent's game in the São Paulo state championship] would give us a slight advantage, due to the fatigue they would experience. But I think it's fair and correct. We've been through a similar situation before," explains the point guard.
For Helio, expectations are high for the match against Franca, on January 15th, at the opponent's home ground in the interior of São Paulo. "A match against Franca is always a motivational one. We'll fight for the win. We want to stay in the top spots."
Flamengo is fourth in the NBB, with four wins in six games (66,67% success rate). Franca/Amil is third, with 71,43%. Universo/Brasília leads with 88.89%, followed by Joinville/Ciser/Araldite/Univille (85,71%).
