The friendly quadrangular is part of the pre-season preparation of Mais Querido, which still has disputes of the Super Four Rio-Nordeste de Basquete, at the end of September.
"We've been preparing for ten days, at the beginning of the preseason, so we're starting training now. We already have two preparatory tournaments. We'll play, but we're not even close to 100% yet. The teams here in Peru are already in a different phase. The Argentine team is already finishing the preseason, the Spanish team has already finished everything. These are different moments. We have our goals and our principles, so we won't lose that," explains Diego Falcão, the team's physical trainer, about the fact that the competition serves the team's greater purpose, which is to win titles in 2016/17. The State Championship, NBB9, and Liga das Américas will be contested.
