Neto: "We didn't take the points to the next game"
Neto celebrates his first victory but remembers that each game is a new decision
By Communication - Official Club Website - inThis Wednesday (14.05), at 20pm, Flamengo returns to the Tijuca Tênis Clube court for the second game of the best-of-five series of the Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB) semifinals. Against Mogi das Cruzes, Rubro-Negro fights for a place in the grand final and defends the championship title.
Coach José Neto analyzed the first match against the opponent, last Monday (12.05). "We knew from the beginning that it would be a tough series. No team reaches the championship semifinals by chance, and even more so after beating two strong teams, Pinheiros and Limeira. We knew it would be difficult, because of the way Mogi plays, a game with a lot of contact, very physical," he said.
The coach also emphasizes that the series lead is worth celebrating, but there are still at least two more games to go. "The win we achieved was important; it's now 1-0 for us, but in a playoff series, we don't carry points from one game to the next. It was a good performance from the team, and now it's time to focus on the next game. This one is behind us," he concluded.
