The Flamengo point guard averages 15,3 points, 4,7 assists, and 3,1 rebounds, and in his first year in Brazil, he played in the All-Star Game, earning the most votes for the foreign player. His excellent performance earned the Argentine a call-up to his country's national team's preliminary squad for this year's South American Championship in Caracas, Venezuela.
The tournament will take place from July 11th to 19th. Argentina arrives at the South American tournament defending its title, having won the last edition, beating Venezuela 79-56 in the final.
The Brazilian national team's squad will be announced at the end of May. Coach Rúben Magnano is expected to call up young players who, depending on their performances in the tournament, could compete for a spot in the squad for the World Cup in Spain in August. Brazil is the most successful team in the South American Championship, with 18 titles in the competition.
