Rubro-Negro will have another challenge ahead in the state competition
By Rafael Rezende - inAfter closing the first round of the State Championship with one victory and one defeat, Orgulho da Nação will host Niterói, on the night of next Wednesday (11), at 20 pm, at the Hélio Maurício gym. The game, valid for the return leg, will be open only to club members and guests, subject to capacity, and will be broadcast live on FlaTV.
This season, the teams have already faced each other once, at the Instituto Abel gymnasium. Playing consistently, Flamengo won 93-54 in the championship opener. Olivinha (24 points) and Rafael Mineiro (18 points and 11 rebounds) were the standout performers. Mineiro even received the match MVP award.
The number 12 made an analysis of the duel:
"I'm sure it will be a great game. Niterói has grown a lot since last season, and although it may not seem like it, they are a very physical team. So, it's a great chance for us to make a good impression on those watching."
Dispute format
The tournament will be played in a home-and-away format, with teams facing each other at home and away. The top two teams will then advance to the final, which will be played as a best-of-three series. The dates have already been set (September 26th, September 09th, and October 29st).
