After a brief break for the Pan American Games, Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB) returned with everything for the rest of the season. Playing at Maracanãzinho, Flamengo won the classic against Botafogo by 92 to 69, on Tuesday night (7). The highlight of the match was Gabriel Jaú, with 21 points converted.

1st Bedroom
The first points for Flamengo in the derby came from Gabriel Jaú, who received an assist from Balbi. Jaú then dunked the ball himself and added two more points. The start of the game was fairly even, as Botafogo kept Flamengo from opening up.

With four minutes remaining in the quarter, Gui Deodato found himself free to sink two more. With their defense locked in, the Pride of the Nation hampered the opposition's attacks, forcing the Black and White team to shoot from outside the perimeter. Matheus Leoni entered the court and delivered an excellent pass to Loku Cuello for two more. Gabriel Jaú then hit Mengão's first three-pointer of the match, closing the period with a nine-point lead: 18-9.

2st Bedroom
On the court, "The God of Race" Olivinha received an assist from Gui Deodato, scored two points, and was fouled. He also converted the bonus free throw. Gui Deodato swayed past the defense and hit a beautiful three-pointer to maintain the red-and-black lead. Maique, with grit, received the ball in the paint for two points and the foul, converting the free throw.

Meanwhile, Botafogo attempted offensive plays but were thwarted by the red-and-black defense's strong blocking. Even so, they managed to convert a few points. In the final minutes, the black-and-white team stepped up their game and managed to close the gap. But the Pride of the Nation responded immediately with Cuello, who hit a three-pointer. With that, FlaBasquete went into halftime dominating the action and leading 40-33.

3st Bedroom
After halftime, Olivinha added three more points for Mengão. Soon after, Cuello followed suit, converting a three-pointer. Gui Deodato continued the red-and-black team's momentum, quickly descending the field and scoring two more points. Jaú also capitalized on the opportunity, further extending Flamengo's lead.

Filipovity scored his first three points of the game with a little over a minute remaining in the quarter. Olivinha, the "God of Race," made a layup and was fouled. In the final seconds, Gui Deodato hit a shot from the dead zone. The score was 68-45 in favor of "Mais Querido."

4st Bedroom
In the final period, Botafogo came back stronger and managed to close the gap slightly. But Mengão didn't let the pace drop and started scoring again. Maique received the ball in the paint and, on a platter, scored two more points. Balbi then worked the play well, shooting from the perimeter, and the ball fell. With three minutes remaining, Filipovity converted four points on two two-pointers. With a good lead, FlaBasquete prevailed on the court and closed the game 92-69.

Next challenge
The Pride of the Nation returns to the court on Friday (10) for another Rio de Janeiro classic. The team led by Gustavo De Conti will face Vasco, at 18:45 pm, at the São Januário gymnasium. The game will be broadcast on FlaTV+ and sportv.
