In a thrilling game that went down to the wire, FlaBasquete was ultimately defeated by Unifacisa 89-88 on Thursday night (8), at Arena Unifacisa, in the opening round of the NBB. Argentine Baralle was the standout player for Flamengo with 26 points. Now, the Pride of the Nation takes advantage of the trip to the Northeast and faces Fortaleza BC next Saturday (10).

1st Bedroom

The hoops opened in 2026 with a three-pointer from Baralle, giving Flamengo the lead at the Unifacisa gymnasium. The beginning of the game was quite balanced, with the teams alternating in the lead. Midway through the quarter, the home team managed to open up a six-point lead. Struggling to penetrate the paint, Flamengo also missed some shots, which put them at a disadvantage. With better efficiency on offensive plays, Unifacisa finished the period winning 27-17. 

2st Bedroom

In the second quarter, Unifacisa continued to play better, maintaining their lead. With a three-pointer from Negrete, the Pride of the Nation reduced the difference to six points. The game continued with the home team always ahead. In the final seconds of the period, the game became electrifying as FlaBasquete rallied and managed to tie the game. However, at the buzzer, the home team scored with a layup and went into halftime with a 46-44 lead.

3st Bedroom

Returning for the third quarter, the teams continued trading points, keeping the duel very balanced and open. A little careless on defense, the Flamengo team allowed Unifacisa to regain a good lead. It's worth highlighting Negrete's good performance, scoring six consecutive points with drives into the paint. The home team had a great quarter and continued to lead by eleven points: 77 to 66. 

4st Bedroom

In the final quarter, Flamengo managed to cut the deficit to two points, making the game electrifying. With a sensational play by Negrete, the Argentinian penetrated the paint, scored two points on a layup, and was fouled. He converted the bonus free throw, tying the game. The game remained tied until the final moments, when Unifacisa scored again and took a two-point lead. Cummings, with a three-pointer, put Flamengo back in front. However, on their final possession, the home team hit a double and won the game 89-88.  

Next appointment

Pride of the Nation returns to the court on Saturday (10) to face Fortaleza BC, at 16 pm, at UNIFOR, in another round of the NBB return leg.
