Flamengo gave Bauru no chance. With consistent play throughout the first four quarters, coach Paulo Chupeta's team increased their lead, period after period, and comfortably won the match: 107-90. The match took place on Friday night (January 22nd) at the HSBC Arena.

Coach Paulo Chupeta was pleased with the points distribution among the red-and-black players. Seven players reached double digits (scored more than 10 points): Marcelinho: 28, Hélio 14, Alírio 12, Jefferson and Teichmann 11, Duda and Wagner 10.

"This split in points only shows the quality of our squad, and I know I can count on several players from the bench. Alírio, Jefferson, and Hélio came on and performed well," said coach Paulo Chupeta.

The coach also revealed that the match was difficult, despite the 17-point lead. According to him, the coaching staff analyzed the opposing team before taking the court, which was crucial to the victory.

"It was a tough match, as Bauru was coming off a win over Joinville. We studied their players, and that was crucial to our victory," Chupeta added.

Marcelinho was the individual standout, with 28 points, six rebounds, and five steals. However, he didn't play until the end, having to leave after committing his fifth foul. The next match will be this Sunday, January 24th, also at the HSBC Arena, against Assis Basket. With Friday's victory, the red-and-black team remains in the top four of the National Basketball League. Center Coloneze was injured and may miss the team's next Sunday against Assis.
