New FlaBasquete reinforcements arrive in Gávea
Point guard David Cubillan and power forward MJ Rhett have already joined the roster.
By Victor Cachoeira - inThe new players of Pride of the Nation are already in Rio de Janeiro. Last Sunday (10.09), the American MJ Rhett and the Venezuelan David Cubillan were introduced to Mais Querido, in Gávea, and are now part of coach José Neto's squad.
In their first hours at the red-black facilities, the athletes learned a little about Flamengo's history on a tour of FlaMemoria, spoke exclusively to FlaTV and visited the Hélio Mauricio gym, which will be the new home for the foreigners.
MJ and Cubillan will undergo medical exams and preseason training throughout the week. The duo will be part of the delegation that will depart next Thursday (14.09) for Lima, Peru, where FlaBasquete will play a preseason tournament, which will mark the debut of the new reinforcements with the Manto Sagrado.
The Flamengo Regatas Club basketball teams receive funding from their sponsors – Estácio, AmBev, Rede D'or, IRB Brasil RE, CSN, Brasil Plural, and EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), as well as support from the Brazilian Club Committee (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources generated by the Pelé Law. The Flamengo Guardian Angel Project, a personal tax transfer, benefits all Olympic sports of the Most Beloved Club.
