Kayo Gonçalves is FlaBasquete's newest addition. A native of Palhoça, Santa Catarina, the 25-year-old was a standout player for FlaBasquete in the last Champions League Americas.

Kayo arrived at Flamengo at a young age and excelled in the youth teams. After stints in North American college and European basketball, the power forward made his professional debut for the Mais Querido in December of last year, filling in for his idol Olivinha, who suffered a dislocated shoulder. After two months of recovery, Olivinha returned to the court, and Kayo was unable to continue on the roster for the national competition due to the adult limit. However, Kayo remained on the Flamengo squad for the Champions League Americas – and had one of the team's greatest performances of the tournament against Obras, from Argentina. Kayo scored 28 points on 100% shooting from the field in the first game of the BCLA quarterfinals, paving the way for the Mais Querido's qualification to the continental Final Four.

Back for good, Kayo sent a message to the Biggest in the World.

"Nation, we're together this next season! We're going to work very hard, with a lot of desire, a lot of determination to bring you titles and a lot of pride. You can count on me," said the young power forward.

Kayo joins Franco Balbi, Alexey Borges, Shaq Johnson, Gui Deodato, Jordan Williams and Jhonatan Luz as the names confirmed for the next season of red-black basketball.
